 At Cool Campervan Hire Scotland to help out with frequently asked questions we have compiled a list of our questions we get asked on a regular basis , to help customers create their own memories, go on their own adventures, get off the track and experience the best that our country has to offer , Once a Camper van or motor home returns  from a hire  our vans  undergo a rigorous cleaning and inspection process, making sure the van is ready for your trip , holiday or adventure  Below are some frequently asked questions, if you don’t see your question here, please get in touch and we would be happy to help  [email protected].

You can hire your campervan directly using our On-Line Booking Form that will Inform you of the full cost of the camper van with the option of any additional items such has early collection, bedding packs & Insurance for non uk driving licence holders , you can also call us directly during business hours GMT or email us directly .

You will be between 23 & 75 and have had a full drivers licence for two years when starting your trip if you have penalty’s on your drivers licence please contact us directly so that we can check with our Insurance company first on your behalf.

When you rent a camper from Cool Camper Van Hire Scotland the rental fee will cover one named driver included in the cost for the UK , any additional drivers will be an additional cost , this is also  the case if the van is going out with the UK Main land.

Our campervans and motorhomes will come with all you require for a full holiday as standard but check out our accessory option page that will cover items like bedding packs, baby seats, cycle racks, ski racks etc.

Yes we have parking at Cumbernauld & Stirling, this is normal car parking area that the car can be left, we will not ask for keys and the parking is like leaving your car parked at your work/home, we can keep an eye on your car but we cannot take responsibility for it.

We can take payment for your hire on-line through our online partner, bank transfer or a card payment over the phone, your security deposit will be taken by card payment on the day and the card must touch our card machine.

Like hotels, B&B we charge by the night our campers go out from 3 pm (15.00hrs )and returned to us by 11am (11.00 hrs) GMT, this gives us the correct amount of time to prepare the camper for its next hire, we can arrange early collection and late returns please ask if you are unsure so that we can make your adventure easy.

We will need to see your original drivers license, and normally two proof of address that matched your licence this can be utility bill , bank statement , if you are from over seas will will require a copy of your passport as well. And don’t forget we will need payment of the security deposit to be taken on a card so don’t forget to bring your card and tell your bank or provider that you will be using it.

Yes we take well behaved pets, you will have to tell us in advance through our online booking form or when you are booking over the phone.

No you don’t need a special Licence to drive one of our campers  a full drivers license and  fit our Insurance requirements, if unsure please ask before booking.

It will normally take an hour to do your paperwork and show you how the van works.

It will take circa 30 mins to hand back the camper van.

We would normally say allow a few working days but our terms & conditions say allow up to 14 days.

No  is the answer,  all our vehicles are adapted so you can “wild camp”, this is when you are not in a campsite and are parked freely without an electrical connection.
 
In Scotland, you may park freely in rural areas (But do Check as this Changes with areas such as Loch Lomond) if you adhere to being 100 metres from a building and are not creating a dangerous situation for yourself or any other road users.

We would recommend that you pack light, layer your clothes for weather changes, bring soft luggage and any medication that you require,  phone charger cable. Other than that you will be able to pick up most items that you get at home, but bring the holiday fun with you and big smiles.

No smoking is allowed inside the van at any time.

Please bring the camper back so that we only require a light clean inside and outside to be able to hand over to our next guests.
